Once again Scoil Phádraig Naofa reached a much-anticipated final against Bantry in the Roinn 1 final. Conditions proved difficult with strong winds and a slippery surface. Both teams started well and continued this for through out the match. Scoil Phádraig Naofa opened the scoring with a point from Mark Buckley quickly answered by Bantry. The boys in green played the first half with the wind at their backs leading to a slight advantage with the halftime score 1-4 to 1-2.
With the winds not relenting the boys in green showed great strength with scores from Keith White, Mark Buckley and Pádraig O’Mahony. With great support from classmates and home supporters Scoil Phádraig Naofa kept their nerve and by the final whistle the boys in green proved they had the winning formula. Through out, Scoil Phádraig Naofa showed great determination and sportsmanship and did themselves and their school very proud. Final score 1-8 to 2-4.
