U10 Football
The U10 footballers had two games in last two weeks.
Skibbereen came to Sam Maguire Park on Saturday 15th April and played Sams in a
challenge match. Two teams were fielded by both clubs and after 45 mins of
excellent football Sams u10s came out on top in two close matches. On
Saturday 23rd April the u10s travelled in force to play Douglas in the county
league. Three teams were fielded by both clubs and after a tough 45 mins of
football Douglas came out on top in 2 matches and Sams in one. Well done to all
involved and thanks to the parents for travelling up to support the lads . Next
match v St Colms in hurling league on 6th May.
U14 Hurling
The U14 hurlers played their first league game of the season
on Thursday night last 20th April in Enniskeane against Ahane Gaels. They
started very strongly and led at halftime by 2-4 -0-2 with the goals coming
from Padraig O Sullivan and Brian Wilson. Playing against a breeze in the
second half scores were harder to come by, but they put in a great team
performance and came out on top at the final whistle 2-9 0-3. Next
hurling match is against Kilbree at home on 11th May.
U8 blitz
Sam Maguire Park hosted an U8 football blitz in glorious sunshine on Saturday morning last.
Teams from Skibbereen, Bantry, Newcestown, Mathunas, Barryroe, Timoleague, Kilbrittains along with 3 teams representing Sam Maguires took part in what was a very enjoyable and well run blitz. Well done to Philip and all the parents who helped out on the day.
