The pride of the parish this week goes to Scoil Phádraig Naofa is winning the Roinn 1 final in Scrith Na Scol, against the very determined Bantry outfit. There were some great individual performances and goalkeeper Paul O’ Mahony gave excellent leadership as captain as well as making some outstanding saves.

Scoil Phádraig Naofa were determined in getting a positive result here after being beaten by Bantry the past two years. With scores from Mark Buckley, Keith White and Pádraig O’ Mahony, they kept the score board ticking over for the entire game and eventually won on a scoreline of 1-8 to 2-4.

These lads have given great entertainment over the last twelve months and this final was no acceptation keeping everyone on their toes to the final whistle. Definitely a lot of these players will be seen in future years wearing the green Doheny jersey.

Senior footballers continue their preparation for their up and coming championship match with Ilen Rovers on June 18th in Skibbereen.

Junior Hurlers will play their hurling championship against Newcestown on Saturday at 5:00pm please check locally for venue. If they can produce the form they have in their league campaign, they can match most teams in the Junior A hurling championship.

The best of luck lads and to all involved!
