Seniors
The Doheny Seniors had a good win over Valley Rovers in the Kelleher Shield on Tuesday April 2nd on a score-line of 0-16 to 1-10. The seniors made life difficult for themselves in the 2nd half having completely dominated the 1st half but held out for a deserved win despite Valley Rovers best efforts. With the aid of strong breeze Dohenys led at half time on a score-line of 0-09 to 0-04. Valleys regrouped at half time and early goal in the second half brought the game to life but the Dohenys continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over to register a much needed win. The Seniors played Bantry in a Challenge game in Sam Maguire Park on Sunday last in dreadful weather conditions. The Seniors eventually won out a score-line 1-05 to 0-05 with Mike Milner getting the decisive goal. Junior A Footballers:
The Junior A Footballers played Carbery Rangers in the league at home on Wednesday April 3rd losing on a score-line of 1-12 to 1-07. The team started extremely poorly conceding 1-07 in the opening quarter. With the introduction of a number of subs the team clawed its way back into game reducing the deficit to 2 points midway through the 2nd half however this was as close as the team got but credit to the team for showing great heart. The half time score-line read 1-08 to 0-05 in favour of Carbery Rangers. The Junior A Hurlers had a comprehensive win over St. Marys under the lights in Sam Maguire Park on Friday night last on a score-line of 3-21 to 1-07. It was a very good team performance from the off, dominating the exchanges all over the pitch. The half time score-line read 2-11 to 0-02 in favour of the Dohenys.
