DOHENY G.A.A. NOTES - (Number of times read: 797)

The seniors played Nemo Rangers in the Kelleher Shield last Thursday night. Doheny’s got off to an excellent start and maintained their lead through the entire game. This was great preparation for next Sundays championship tie with Bishopstown in Bandon. Dohenys have had some great results in the league up to date but as every sports person should be aware league and championship are too different of a kind. There is some great local interest in what the starting 15 will be. My guess is it will definitely throw up some surprises. We wish all the players and the back room staff the best of luck. The game is schualled for four o’ clock in Charlie Hurley Park Bandon, strong support would be appreciated.
The junior hurlers continued their training during the week; they had a good turn out on Saturday morning.
The junior football selectors organised a very worthwhile coaching session for all players in the club on last Saturday. This was an excellent coaching session with some great techniques shown by the coaches. Any player that attended found it very benefiting. Every effort is being made by these selectors to improve everyone’s game.
There was no winner in this week’s lotto draw. Next week’s jackpot is €4200. Both clubs fully appreciated the effort being made by all who supports the lotto, as the money goes back into promoting our national games and giving the youth of our parish a good sporting outlet.
