The annual Dinner
will be held in the Parkway Hotel on Saturday next January 30th.
Guest of honour on the night will be Jim Gorman, Chairman of the
Munster Council. Medal presentations will be made to the victorious
Minor Hurlers who captured the West Cork title and were unlucky to lose
out to eventual county champions Kilshannig in the S/Final. The Ladies
football team captured their first piece of silverware when they
captured the League title by defeating Kinsale in the Final. They will
also be presented with their medals at the function. The
social is usually the highlight of the year and a great night is
assured. Music on the night will be provided by the Dreamers. Tickets
costing 25 euro are available from committee members.
As the playing
season fast approaches the first into competitive action will be the
Senior footballers. The Tadhg Crowley Cup will commence on Sunday
February 7th. This competition will be an open draw. The
winners of the first round games will go forward to the S/finals on the
following Sunday. The losers of Round 1 will play in a separate
competition running parallel with the concluding rounds of the Tadhg
Crowley Cup competition. This format ensures that each team will have a
minimum of 2 games during the month of February.
