PRO | Tuesday 12 February 2019

The Doheny Senior footballers had another positive performance & result away to Bishopstown in the County football league, winning on a score-line of 0-13 to 1-03, on Sunday evening last.  It was all about containment in the 1st half as the men in green were playing against a stiff breeze.  Credit to the Dunmanway side they played with discipline & maturity & actual led at half time on a score-line of 0-06 to 1-02.  With the wind to their backs and their tails up, the Dunmanway men pressed forward in the 2nd half to run out convincing victors.  All in all it was another excellent team performance & it’s obvious that the hard work that’s being put in on the training ground is coming to the fore on match days. Donal Rice & Jerry O’Farrell were teak tight in the full back line.  Eoin Lavers commanded the centre back position & was ably assisted by Padraig O’Mahony who put in an impressive display at wing back.  Cathal O’Donovan put in a dominant display at midfield chipping in with a number of points and up top Mark Buckley & Keith White were their usual lively selves.  Team: Stephen Daly, Donal Rice, Sean Daly, Jerry Farrell, Padraig O Mahony, Eoin Lavers (0-1), Barry O Donovan, Cathal O Donovan (0-2), Johnny Kelly, Jamie Caroll (0-3) (0-2f), Brendan McCarthy, Niall Hurley, Keith White, Mark Buckley (0-6) (0-4f), Fionn Herlihy (0-1)  Subs Used:- Aidan O’Donovan & Ray Jennings.
