Playing activities:
The Doheny senior footballers had a good win away to Bandon
in Division 3 of the County football league on Easter Sunday winning on a
score-line of 1-06 to 0-11. Although playing against the elements in the
1st half the Dohenys led at half time on a score-line of 7 points to
4 points with Jamie Carroll in red hot form with the boot. The
Dohenys had to make a number of enforced substitutions in the 1st
half and at half time due to injury but this didn’t upset the balance of the
visiting side as they held their composure and concentration levels to see out
the game. Bandon only got their goal deep in stoppage time which put a
bit of respectability on the score-line from their perspective. The Doheny
seniors needed this confidence booster with the upcoming championship derby
match with a very fancied Castlehaven side in less than 2 weeks.
Lotto:
There was no winner of the Doheny GAA Club’s Lotto Jackpot
of €1,600 held on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 05, 14 &
30. Consolation prizes went to Miriam Forbes c/o KCK, Carol Ross,
Darkwood & Lisa Maybury, Parkway Hotel. The jackpot now stands at
€1,800 and the next draw takes place in the Southern Bar on Sunday night
8th of April 2018.
