The Junior A footballers are in championship action this Friday evening in Rossmore at 7pm against Carbery Rangers. Preparations for this game have gone reasonably good.  The team are in second position in the league having won 3 games from 5.  The most recent league game was at home to Ilen Rovers on Wednesday evening last.  It was a high scoring game.  Unfortunately for the home side they lost on a score-line of 2-12 to 4-10.  On Saturday evening the Junior A footballers played Goleen in a challenge game which they won convincingly on a score-line of 4-17 to 3-07.  There’s a good mixture of youth and experience in the team.  Big numbers have turned out all year for the Juniors so the team management have no easy task in picking the first 15 for this championship encounter.

The Senior Footballers lost to Ballingeary in the league on Sunday last in Kilmichael on a score-line of 1-07 to 0-12.  Although it was a much improved performance from the week previous it was still a disappointing result.   Team: Darren Kelly, Barry O’Donovan, Niall Hurley, Sean Daly, Eoin Lavers, Alan Sheehan, Brian McCarthy, David Collins, Tom Collins, Donal Rice, Patrick McCarthy, Johnny Kelly, Denis Healy, Daniel O’Donovan, Mark Quinn. Subs: Pat Collins, Jerry McCarthy, Declan O’Dwyer
