All club football has been at stand still over the past week. The Junior A hurlers continue their preparation for the up and coming championship with Kilbrittain on Friday 29th in clonakilty at 7:45pm. This match will be a difficult assignment for Doheny’s as everyone is well aware Kilbrittain has a very strong hurling tradition. It’s obvious that Doheny’s will be without a few key players on the night. Best of luck to the lads and the mentors on Friday night!

The golf classic is taking place August the 27th and final preparations are being put in place at the moment. Anyone who wants to enter a team or sponsor a T box at €50 contact any club officers or text details to 0863773337, it would be much appreciated.

Sam Maguire Notes

The past week was a very busy on most under age teams. Minor hurlers were playing championship on last Sunday evening Cobh were the opposition. This was an even enough affair with a few decisions going against Sams Maguire’s. Cobh went on to win by the narrowest of margins. Sams can hold their heads high well done lads.

Under 11 footballers were at home to Bandon with Sams having 8 subs and Bandon having 5 subs. With the new rules, they played an 11 a side game. This issue will have to be addressed with the people who have the power.
