Junior footballers were at home to Carbery Rangers on last Thursday night. This was a very poor performance by our junior team as Carbery Rangers dictated the game from start to finish. As our junior team are up against Bandon in six weeks time, it’s important they get all their big name players out.
Senior footballers were away to Castleheaven on last Friday night. Their good run in the Kelleher Shield came to an end as they lost by four points to the Heaven. They had chances to narrow the margin but this did not work out to Dohenys benefit. At the moment there are a number of players plagued with injuries and resources are being stretched to the limit.
With Senior Championship a month away hopeful these knocks will have cleared up. The seniors are facing Bishopstown on the 8th of May in Bandon for the 1st round of championship.
Raymond Lyons memorial game goes ahead on Friday 15th in Charlie Hurley Park. Between Hamilton High School Bandon and Maria Immaculata Community College Dunmanway. If this game will live up to last year’s classic, it will be well worth going along to see. Hamilton High School has donated a wonderful trophy in honour of the late Ramie Lyons R.I.P., as a mark of respect for his services the school and G.A.A.
