CUL CAMP 2019 - (Number of times read: 955)

Maguire cul camp was held last week from Monday 12th to Friday 16th of August
in Sam Maguire park. This years camp catered for record numbers with up to 300
boys and girls practicing their skills each day. The Camp has gone from
strength to strength over the last number of years and is now one of the
biggest Cul Camps in the county. Football was coached each day with
Hurling/Camogie aslo being coached on Thursday and Friday.
The
weather was kind to us every day except Friday when the rain unfortunately
never cleared and camp had to be finished at 12 o clock.
We
had up to 30 coaches and helpers for the week, and were very privileged to have
our very own Cork stars Mellissa Duggan and Fionn Herlihy passing on their
expertise as well. We had a visit from Cork Football star Ruairi Deane on
Thursday and he spoke to all the kids and answered their questions on what it
was like to be an intercounty star.
Overall
it was a very enjoyable and busy week, with all the kids learning new skills
and most importantly have fun with their friends.
