On Sunday evening the senior footballers again were hosts in the quarterfinal of the Tadg Crowley cup when they played, newly promoted last years Intermediate Champions, Newmarket. Again both sides had to contend with heavy underfoot conditions in this game. Dohenys looked a tired team in the first quarter and trailed on the score of six points to one. The point scored from a free by Alan Sheehan. Further points by Stephen Collins, A. Sheehan (2) and a well worked goal by Jerry McCarthy had the sides level at the halfway stage on the score of 1-04 to 0-07. Dohenys improved their game in the second half and with points from Declan Dwyer, A. Sheehan (2) Johnny Collins, Denis Healy they outpointed Newmarket in the half by two. Dohenys top scorer A. Sheehan consolidated their lead after scoring a great goal with five minutes remaining and the game ended on the score of 1-09 to 0-10.

Ballincollig are their opponents in the semifinal of the Tadg Crowley cup and this game is sceduled to be played at Ballincollig onthis Friday night at 8.30pm.
U21 Football
The U21s were also in action on Friday night when they played a worthwhile challenge against Bantry at Cloughduv. This team overcame St. Nicks on the score of 1-08 to 0-09 the previous week in the Glenville Invitation Tournament. They are scheduled to play Kanturk this weekend in the next round. The game is fixed to be played at Mallow on this Friday night,at 8pm
Presentation of County and South West medals
The underage section of the club, Sam Maguires, will be honouring their successful U12s, U13s and U15 teams at a function in the Pavilion on this Friday night. Cork senior dual player Ciaran Sheehan will be the guest of honour,with the proceedings starting at 7.30p.m. and all are welcome to attend
County representation
John Forbes represented his school MICC playing at corner back on the county Vocational Schools senior hurling team at Athenry on Saturday last against Galway. Though John gave a good display his team lost this All Ireland quarter-final tie on the score 13points to eleven.
