Friday evening last saw Castlehaven U 16 footballers provide
the opposition in Union Hall .
After a slow start and some good defending Sam's trailed 5
points to 1 on the fifteen minute mark .
However a well worked move which resulted in Alan Crowley
netting, settled the Sam Maguire side.A further goal by Alan Brickley gave Sam's a 2-3 lead to
0-6 on the short whistle .
With the breeze to their backs in the second half Sam's
played some good football and opened up an 8 point lead with 2 more goals
from the sharp Crowley, the second a penalty after a foul on Dara Hayes. Haven
fought back to reduce the lead to 3 points and a last minute goal saw the game
end in parity on a score 5-7 to 3-13 . A good team display by Sam's with good
performances from Keith Forbes, Luke Kearney and Alan Brickley. Training
